Above is an example of a classic design option where fabric is lined and is tailored to hang from the top of the window to the sill or all the way to the floor. Panels can hang freely down either side of the window or have a gathered look with tiebacks. They are decorative but can also be functionally closed for insulation, privacy, and light control.

A valance is a general term for a decorative fabric top treatment. Top treatments are used alone or over mini and vertical blinds, pleated and rod pocket draperies, Roman and balloon shades. They can be tailored in various ways and embellished with pleats, trim and heading styles to get exactly the look you want. Many times they are paired with drapery panels for a neat & finished look.

Swags & Jabots

Swags & jabots are decorative top treatments. Swags are generally folded in a soft semi-circle and jabots are the fabric tails that cascade to the sides of the window from beneath the swag.

This category includes Roman shades, London shades and balloon shades. These shades are typically mounted from the top to cover a portion of the window pane. They can be constructed to either remain stationary or to be raised and lowered for privacy and light-control. All of our shades meet American National Standard for Safety of Corded Window Coverings.
